Autism National Committee

AUTCOM is the only autism advocacy organization dedicated to “Social Justice for All Citizens with Autism” through a shared vision and a commitment to positive approaches. Our organization was founded in 1990 to protect and advance the human rights and civil rights of all persons with autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, and related differences of communication and behavior. In the face of social policies of devaluation, which are expressed in the practices of segregation, medicalization, and aversive conditioning, we assert that all individuals are created equal and endowed with certain inalienable rights, and that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation

The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation is a national autism organization focused on adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The mission of our volunteer-run organization is to develop and fund our Signature Programs that create innovative ways for the diverse population of adults living with ASD to participate in and contribute to community life.

The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation Signature Programs can be found throughout the United States and include residential, vocational, educational and recreational opportunities that are blueprints for replication in grassroots communities everywhere. We are a leading advocacy organization, inspired by autistic adults and their families, and our own self-advocate advisory board. Our goal is to create awareness that adults living with ASD are capable citizens and have the right to be respected and valued members of society.

Adults of all ages on the autism spectrum, their families and friends, academics and professionals in the autism field unite as a community in AASCEND. Our members sit down at the table as peers to support one another and work together to achieve AASCEND’S goals of Education, Networking and Development.

Promotes Self-understanding

Autism’s core challenges can be profound. AASCEND members explore the world of autism through group discussions, guest speakers, films and book selections.

Offers Support

For the past ten years AASCEND members have been meeting monthly to share information resources, support one another emotionally, and in the process learn to appreciate the view points of others. Our group is intergenerational and comes from all walks of life.
